SITUATION
As of 0500 hours 28 August 2012, NWS/NHC is reporting on
three systems in the Atlantic-Caribbean-Gulf of Mexico basin. These systems
are:
Tropical Storm ISAAC
Invest 97, projected to remain out in the Atlantic
A tropical wave just off the coast of Africa, too early to
tell the track this system will take

Tropical Storm ISAAC is the one of most concern for
Louisiana. Landfall now appears imminent The latest track model can be

Landfall is expected in southeast Louisiana late tonight or
early Wednesday morning as a Category 1 hurricane.
Main impacts will be:
Southeast Louisiana:

Tropical storm wind duration of 20-24 hours with
a few locations lasting for 36 hours

Hurricane force wind duration of 8-10 hours

Rainfall amount of 2-7 inches with 8-16 inches
possible in extreme southeast Louisiana

Tornado threat Tuesday through Wednesday
North Louisiana:

Heavy rain/flooding potential starting Tuesday
night with 3-8 inches expected, some locally higher

Sustained winds 30-50 mph with higher gusts
starting late Tuesday night/Wednesday morning

Isolated tornados in northeast Louisiana
Wednesday/Thursday
Southwest and Central Louisiana:
