STATEWIDE PARISH BURN BANS / DROUGHT 2011:
WebEOC Incident 010-11 Statewide Parish Burn Ban
State Fire Marshal H. “Butch” Browning and Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain lifted the statewide burn ban as of 11 November 2011.
Jefferson Davis Parish (expires 14 December 2011) has a parish wide declaration of a state of emergency due to the extreme drought situation.

2. LOUISIANA WEATHER:
SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA: Today will be mostly sunny during the day and clear at night. Wednesday through Saturday will be mostly sunny during the day and partly cloudy at night. Sunday will be partly cloudy throughout the day.
Temperatures: Today: 49/30, Thursday: 55/34, Friday: 59/35, Saturday: 55/34, Sunday: 56/39
HAZARDOUS WEATHER: High pressure settling into the region tonight will result in excellent cooling. Temperatures will fall quickly after sunset and an area wide freeze is expected. A hard freeze is likely for areas north of the Interstate 10 corridor. 8 to 12 hours of freezing temperatures are expected. Precautions should be taken to protect plants, pets, and pipes tonight.
SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA: Today has a 20 percent chance of rain during the day becoming mostly clear at night. Thursday through Saturday will be mostly sunny during the day and partly cloudy at night.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: Northerly winds of 20 to 30 mph will keep small craft advisories posted for all waters into Thursday morning.
A light freeze is expected tonight over southern Mississippi and adjacent parishes in Louisiana. A light freeze is possible west and southwest of Lake Pontchartrain and the West Bank in the New Orleans Metro area, on Thursday morning.
A light freeze is expected each night through Saturday night mainly across areas of southeast Louisiana and south Mississippi along and to the north of the Interstate 10 and Interstate 12 corridor. These locations have experienced several light freezes already this season.
CENTRAL LOUISIANA: Today through Saturday will be sunny during the day and mostly clear at night. Sunday will be mostly clear during the day and partly cloudy at night.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: A cold core upper level low pressure system will move east away from the area today, but before it departs it may produce areas of light rain or light snow over parts of southwest and south central Arkansas and north central Louisiana east of Aprescott to El Dorado Arkansas and Bernice to Ruston, Chatham, Winnfield, and Dry Prong, Louisiana line. No accumulations are expected from the snow since it will be so light.
